It seems like I am no longer updating my blog due in preparing some sort of stuff before enrolling in one of the public university *Alhamdulillah, I have been selected to further my studies in Diploma of Mass Communication in UITM Melaka, Alor Gajah's Campus* - Sooo.. there are some points that should be bolds and yeah of course I am gonna share it with you guys! So stay tuned! Jeng jeng jeng πŸ˜‚

1- Getting Ready to Learn and Goal Setting.

First and foremost, all of you including me *of course* Teheheh .. should prepare our mentally and physically-self before initiating ourself in university lifes! Which mean we need to GET READY TO LEARN 🌸 Learning at university is likely to be very different from learning at school or college, and in recent years our universities have put more works into helping students to understand and deal with this transition.

Making The Transition From School to University.

One of the usually transition that happen in university lifes is textbooks are surely not provided. As we know, when we were in our primary either secondary school, 'SPBT' that lead to Skim Pinjaman Buku Teks were obtainable. But that one is where and when we were in our passing years. Since we are moving into our next stage, you need to be creative on how to acquire textbooks in a simple ways due to the cost of the textbook is quite expensive. So, all you could do is by buying the textbook from the senior which mean you need to be good in sociable because that somehow could faciliate yourself. Be bright gurlss!!

Next is university is WIDER THAN SCHOOL!!! Omaigad! Don't dim your chances to burn out all of the wicked calories! Ugh! So here a big chances for you to stay in a good and normal weight. Uhuk! But don't forget to take your breakfast and wake up earlier ya eventhough your faculty is far far far far away from your college :'))) *me? About 20 minutes walking from my college to reach the faculty - sad :'))*

Characters of Successful Student.

Not only that, I am also gonna share on what are the characters of successful student ⚡Firstly, all you need to remember is you have to get a balance sleep. Which mean 'Hey gurls and bois! Do not burn your midnight oil okay?' Remember that healthy body could lead to energetic mind of course.

Next, ahaaaa! This is the most important one amongs all. Please BOLD this one okay? Good good ehe. Alright first, write onto a piece of paper and paste it in front of your locker so that you would never miss it πŸ’DO NOT MISS YOUR SOLAH. Remember that SOLAH is the religious pillars. So do not easily put aside all of the Islam matters☝️

Using Learning Style to Enhance Performance.

Other than that, for 5 years I am actually an auditory learner students. But I don't know why when I am doing the VAK Self-Representation System test, I got the visualize learner. But for all I still believe that auditory learner style comforts me more. So here an extra tips or matters for auditory learner. Heyya !

Emm.. According to The Study Gurus (2015), as the name suggests, auditory learners learn best while they are actively listening. Auditory learners find schematic study practices, such as making notes directly from a textbook, not terribly effective. They much prefer to assimilate information through radio or video clips or by talk over the topic 😱.

The Challengers of University Student.

Moreover, the university lifes is also could be categorized as 'on challenging phases' 😨. This is due to modification to a new phase of life. As we know, each of the students are come from a different background. There are some of them have been experiencing hostel lifes when they were in secondary school. So they for surely could cope themselves well with a new environment buttt.. ☝️some are not since this might be their first time being apart from their beloved family huhuhuhu. Basically, the first year of university is always extra hard. So you guys should expect there will be a huge culture shocked so that you could prepare yourself well on how different things would be compared between home and school 😐.

Goal Setting.

Then on the next point, I will share with you guys my short-term goals ✨✨✨ and some SWOT ANALYSE. I have done my own SWOT ANALYSE. So here it is :

S (strength) : 1) I have a high confident level.
2) I love to expose myself.

O (opportunity) : 1) I got so many friends from the other states.
2) I could improve my social skills.
T (threats) : 1) Too much freedom sometimes could lead you to unhealthy lifestyle since no one will even scolded you. You are on your own.
Here is my short-term goals ehe :

What is my goals? Soooo.. Are you sure you want to know? Hehehe. My short-term goals actually is I want to get into the dean list. So yeah that is actually my highest hope in university. This is because I do really want to get the scholarship for continue my studies. I don't want to troublesome my parents evenmore since they had sacrificed many things for me. So in order to achieve my goals. Tadaaaa.. For surely I will work hard which mean I will focus in my class. Aipp! Say NO TO SLEEP IN CLASS 🚫😴mueheheheheh. Oh ya I almost forgot one thing. 2- Time Management and Organizational Skills.

Procrastinated? What is that? According to Steel (2010), Dr. Samuel Johnson defined procrastination as "delay" and some still asseverate this definition. So basically, procrastinate occur due to human behaviour who loves to delay or postpone in doing something. In order to overcome the procrastinate manifestation, all of you including me *of course* Uhuks! Should arrange your time management wisely - this include as strategy to overcome procrastination. For example, I am having my mutabaah amal ; some sort of schedule for improving myself since I was in secondary school.

Mutabaah Amal.
And Alhamdulillah the advantages of being all things organized is I could improve myself to be a better person in term of 'hijrah' πŸ˜‡. Not only that, I would reward myself too if I could finish ticking all the boxes. I would reward myself with anything such as some chocolates or else for showing some appreciation towards myself.

Organizational Skills.

So here I want to show you guys some important organization chart that me *as UITM Melaka, Alor Gajah's Campus student πŸ˜›* should know. Ooh ooh! This is all including senior officers and the list of Faculty Mass Communication and Media Studies lecturers.

Senior Officer.

Lecturers.
Not to forget, Madam Leen (0193811621) as the college resident. So, whenever I got any problems regarding the college, the right person for me to inform anything to is to her! πŸ˜‰. Oh ya! For your information, I am staying in Tun Hamzah's College ehe.

Kolej Tun Hamzah.
3- Memory, Learning and Improving Consentration.

Okay now, we gonna talk about memory strategy. Ooh wait! What is memory strategy? According to Richards (2008), a comprehensive objective for students is to initiate automatic master plan use, as this increases efficiency during learning and studying. It is important because eventually they will find that the use of strategies increase their talent to unionise and retrieve the information, consequently increasing learning efficiency. One of the memory strategy's example that I oftenly used is :

Chemistry Formula.
During my past secondary years, whenever I need to memorize any formula *most of it was on chemistry subject because that subject was full of formula ZASSS! - I am dying*. So I will replace that words with something funny that I think would ease me to memorize πŸ˜‚ *most  of it I just let the first alphabet stay!* Emm.. Before that I have one question *actually this question was given by my lecturer ehe!* regarding on memorizing skills and strategies.
If you don't have either smartphone or laptop, how you memorize your friends contact?
Basically based on my point of view, I would have a small book *that book actually for me to record all of my friends contact. Sounds lame is it? HAHAHA* But that actually what I have did during my primary school years. Me without smartphone version HAHAHAH.

Forgetting.

The opposite of memorize is what? Forgetting is it? So if you cannot memorize all of the informations well, forgetting would harm you. Theres a lot of reasons for forgetting. *I mean when forgetting started to take over your whole mind. Woah! Creepy!* So, one of the reasons of forgetting is when you started to do things at the last minute. For example, last minute study. Your mind could cramp out and make you stuck in the middle of the way. That is actually the worst feeling ever errr. =='

Then according to Curejoy Editorial (2017), stress could lead to the causes of forgetfullness too. This is because when you are stressed and distracted, it is docile to remain forgetting things within seconds. And when that stress build up? It can enfeeble the hippocampus *the part of your brain that is in charge of spartial memory*. This type of memory is related to your natural world like forgetting things and where you put them. Huhuhuhu.

Improving Concentration.

Next is concentration. What is concentration? According to Sasson (n.d), concentration is the talent to verbatim one's attention in accordance with one's will. It means control of the awareness. So theres a lot of strategies to improve concentration. Here, I just want to share about two main strategies. Jeng jeng jeng.. Eheheheheh.. Emm, according to Burton (2017), one of the strategies that anyone could use to improve concentration and memory is by pay attention. You cannot take in information unless you are paying awareness, and you cannot remember information unless you are taking it in. Get enough food and sleep, and avoid amusement such as a background radio or television.

Secondly, involve as many senses as possible. For instance, if you are sitting in lecture, you will memorize more of what is being said if you listen and scawl down a few notes. Or if you are reading a letter or a clause , you will remember more of what is written if you read it audibly to yourself. Woah. Hope all of the information could help you in the future πŸ™‹.

SQ3R (Survey Question Read Recite Review)

Wow SQ3R? What is the definition of SQ3R? Sounds interesting is it? So according to Comprehension Strategies (n.d), middle level students frequently read a text starting at the rootage and going all the way to the end without stopping. While actually this is not necessarily a bad thing, it often does not avail students comprehend hard texts. Teaching students the SQ3R strategy shows them a method to proctor their comprehension.

4-Taking Lecture Notes and Academic Integrity and Performances.

A question suddenly appeared through my mind during googling about this topic. Hmmm.. Why there is a need to take a lecture notes? Basically according to Brady (n.d), taking lecture notes is important because you could create quality reference materials. How? If you want to become the most advantegous in your field, then taking notes is your slate to make it happen. Well as you build your profession and keep traces of what you are learning, you will have promiscuous admission to your very own refresher courses.

Next, the reason of why taking notes is important is your mind's flocking with loose ends to tie. Writing them down helps you to reduce your cluttered thoughts which will reduce stress. It is also a great way to set aside your overwhelm so that you could emphasis on the task at hand.

Hmm.. Wait. Other than that, we also need to promote active listening in our classroom. Theres a lot of ways to promote active listening. For instance according to Lynette (2011), active listening could be promoted by make it a game! For example, there are tons of PowerPoint games out there that let you put in your own questions or you could make your own or keep it simpleton like ; student who gets a right answer have to try to throw a foam ball into a basket. You don't even have to dungeon score. Woohoo. Great!

Hey guys. I hope you are still reading this. I know this post would be quite long heheheheheh. Ok lets continue! Hmmm.. Actually taking lecture notes will also provide an accurate records of information, an opportunity to interprate an organize information and opportunity of repetation. This is because taking lecture notes somehow would help you to organize your task or assignment really well without being depression of knowing nothing that is important. So remember guys! It is important for YOU AND ME toooooo taking notes during lecture! πŸ™Š

Next, I would like to share with you guys about effective notes taking system. According to Oxford Learning (2017), one of the effective notes taking system is by using the mapping method. The mapping note taking method is a more visual way to rearrange your class notes. This proficiency is useful when learning about relationships between topics. Pheww.. We reach the end about lecture notes πŸ™Œ.

The Mapping Method.

Plagiarism.

Then, we will talk about plagiarism. I will show to you guys the definition of plagiarism. According to Merriam Webster (n.d), plagiarism stand for the act of using another person's words or ideas without giving credit to that person ; the act of plagiarizing something. So what is considered as plagiarism? For instance, turning someone else works as yours and paraphrasing done improperly.

Finally Alhamdulillah, we almost hit the end of the post. Congrats yourself! *if you have done reading this post from the very first words* ahahahahah. Last but not least, I will share with all of you some APA Style *American Psychological Association* notes and GPA Chart *Grade Point Average* since both of these could be the important informations for all of the uni's freeshie!
